How to fix MultiCharts Indicator – Error code: 1
We had an interesting question pop up this week at the TiG head quarters. This Multicharts error (Error code: 1) is a rather interesting problem which took us a little while to track down an answer for, Here is a quick post so that the answer can be found more easily as I understand how frustrating these errors can be for traders.
What is Error code: 1
The following error sometimes crops up when trying to install a read-only .sef indicator in the MultiCharts platform:
PowerLanguage Editor Error occurred during import. File: "C:UsersYouFolderNameIndicator.sef" Study: " (Function): Error code: 1
This is basically because the indicator .sef file was compiled in a version of MultiCharts which is different from your current version. For example you may have purchased your indicator when you had MultiCharts 6 and you are now having this problem when trying to install your old indicators into your new updated MultiCharts 7 platform.
There would appear to be no easy fix for this, so you will have to contact the developers of your indicator or system and ask them to provide you with a new .sef file. This will need to have been compiled with the same version of MultiCharts that you are currently using.
